Red Key Fruit Jar
This
is an unusual colored fruit jar we have for sale. At first glance one thinks that it is clear,
but on closer inspection we find that it is a light straw yellow color. The jar
has a key embossed on it with RED embossed on top MASON'S (arch) / PATENT /
NOV. 30th./ 1858. The base is embossed XXIV.
It
measures 7 1/8" high by 3 3/4" diameter. It has a ground lip screw
top. The jar has been lightly tumbled, but still leaving some interior glass
etching from being buried. The embossing is somewhat light. The jar is as dug except for the cleaning
and the color has not been artificially altered.
