SCARCE NEW ORLEANS BEERS

This site has a selection of now scarce New Orleans Brewing Company bottles that are no longer produced here. These bottles became a lot harder to find because of the massive destruction of Hurricane Katrina. Many collections and accumulations are now gone. I was told by a long time collector that the water in St. Bernard Parish even removed the painted ACL labels off of beer and restaurant glasses.

All of these bottles are 9 ½” tall, ABM made, and are all priced at $12.00 unless otherwise stated. The bottles are described below from left to right. Due to these bottles being returned, cleaned, and reused, I cannot guarantee the label is the same time period as the bottle. I feel if the bottle shows very little wear it is probably close to the label’s timeframe.

1.      DIXIE -Mint condition, base marked 1, 12 (upside down) 73. The label: DIXIE BREWING CO. LTD. NEW ORLEANS, the label has a little wear and creasing in the lower right corner.

2.      JAX-Mint condition, base marked 58 with keystone above. The label, JACKSON BREWING CO., NEW ORLEANS has wear, but is complete. The label is scarce, check the close up picture of the label:

3.      JAX-Mint condition, base marked 31205, symbol with an H in a C, 2 (below symbol). The label is complete and near perfect except for a couple of light wear areas.

4.      JAX-The base is marked 8, I (in circle) 64 / 1 / Duraglas / CX-2139. The label has a little piece missing on the lower left and wear spots, the neck label has some wear and a small piece missing on the lower right. The bottle has some case wear around the shoulder area and base. Price: $10.00

5.      REGAL-Although this bottle is not mint due to an old contents haze that you can barely see your fingers through, the label is beautifully mint. The base mark is 4 (diamond across circle), 47/3. (below symbol) Duraglas/CX-2130. An added plus is it has its original cap that is quite readable. Price-$20.00

6.      REGAL-Mint condition, except for some slight case wear at the bottom side. The label is nice and complete with a couple of pin head nicks and some fading on the neck label. The base is marked 4 (diamond across circle) 48/6. (below symbol) Duraglas/CX2130.

7.      FALSTAFF-This bottle shows some case wear especially around the bottle heel. The base mark is 15 (diamond across circle),51 (small 5) below Duraglas /6X-21-30/W-3. The label is complete, but has worn spots due to age.
