This wooden top is approximately 18" diameter.

It is made of plywood. Some of it is faded due to it being in our flooded house during Hurricane Katrina (we call it "Katrina Patina"),
and it has some splits in the wood.
W. H. Hutchinson opened a small bottling plant in 1848. His son, Charles Hutchinson patented the Hutchinson Patent Spring Stopper in 1879. The company then started producing crown top bottle caps until 1974.
