Embossed: DR. J. HOSTETTER'S / STOMACH BITTERS on side,L & W / 17 on the base (Lorenz & Whightman 1862 to 1874)
It measures 8 3/8" tall and was made by L & W Glassworks during the Civil War period. The bottle is gold/yellow amber and has a crude bubbly applied lip.
The bottle has been lightly cleaned, but has a slight haziness. The spots on the front are imperfections in the glass during the glass blowing process.
There are a couple of scratches and a shallow pinhead bubble burst on the lower
middle front, also a 1/4" slight area of roughness on the edge. No other problems.
