Gargoyle Mobiloil by Vacuum Oil Company
This can must date back to the 1920’s because the Vacuum Oil Company merged with Socony in 1931 and the company was known as Socony-Vacuum Oil Company. This can has VACUUM OIL COMPANY New York USA on both of its labels. The can has paper labels with a cool graphic of a gargoyle on both of them. The top of the can also has a gargoyle embossed on it as shown in the picture. The can has some discoloration on the label due to a couple of light areas of rust. There is also some chipping on the label and some minor pitting on the bottom of the can.
