Souvenir Glass 1893 Columbus Chicago World’s Fair

This original hand blown and etched glass was created to commemorate the 600th anniversary of the discovery of America by Columbus in 1492.  The artist beautifully depicted the Agricultural and Machinery buildings of the exposition.  The front of this rare piece is engraved Aunt Rachel above a twirled ribbon which says Souvenir of The World’s Fair Exhibition U.S.A. Chicago 1893.  The glass is very thin being blown, not machine made or mass produced.  There are two very tiny shallow flakes next to each other on the rear outer edge.  They are so small it is hard to picture them.  On a piece this rare I don’t think this will affect the price very much.  I have not seen another in my 40 years of collecting.  One of the first U.S. World’s Fairs.  It is 3 ˝” tall X 2 11/16” diameter.
